The Carer’s Sitting Service has publicly thanked the Freemasons of Derbyshire for their generous support throughout the pandemic.

Since April 2020, deliveries of PPE together with financial support have been received. These items ensured that carers who go out into the community and into the homes of vulnerable people do so with increased safety. The most recent donation was a cheque for £250 from members of the Cestrefeld Lodge which meets in Chesterfield. This was presented by W. Bro. Malcolm Mason MBE at a recent ceremony.

In appreciation of the help received Mr. Mason was invited to officially open their new offices at 126 High Street, Clay Cross. Mr. Mason stated how honoured he was to open the new larger offices which would make the working conditions for the staff much better as the former accommodation was very small and cramped. This would also make it easier to continue the growth of the not for profit service. He also thanked the CSS for their support to him personally as they had looked after his wife for well over 12 years going above and beyond to ensure their welfare.

The Carers Sitting Service, which holds a CQC rating of ‘Good’, provides respite for carers to have a break from their caring roll, personal care, and transport for appointments and shopping, they also provide a befriending service and are on the Derbyshire County Council approved care provider list. The organisation is going from strength to strength providing excellent continuity of care for over 19 years covering Bolsover & parts of North East Derbyshire Districts.
